Meet Jesse Jackson Jr.
Retired U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush led an effort with other leaders to draft Jesse Jackson Jr. into returning to the race to represent the people of Illinois' Second Congressional District. Over his 17 years in service, former U.S. Rep. Jackson was one of the most effective members of Congress. He never missed a vote and brought real results to the District. Jesse has a visionary economic plan to connect the District to the jobs, wages and opportunities of the global economy. He will work to address affordability, invest in education, and improve healthcare. Every community from Chicago to Tilton and in between will receive his full support.

Jesse Jackson Jr. knows inflation and the high cost of living are pricing the American dream out of reach for too many people across Illinois' Second Congressional District. Disparities in jobs and wages are being felt as are gaps in access to food, healthcare and public safety.
Jesse Jackson Jr. believes we must come together to defend the freedoms that Dr. King, his father, and others in past generations risked their lives for. They fought for our right to vote. They fought for our right to earn a living wage. They fought for our access to the benefits of a free society.
Jesse Jackson Jr. is a lifelong fighter for social justice. He represented the people of Illinois' Second Congressional District for 17 years and was one of the most effective members of Congress, delivering nearly a billion in grants and appropriations to the District.
Jesse led the effort and worked with four Illinois governors to purchase the land for a third full-service airport in the Southland. That site now exists in the District, ready for construction to begin, as O'Hare and Midway reach capacity. Jesse's economic plan will connect the District to the global economy.
Jesse Jackson Jr. would lead the fight against the cuts from the One Big Brutal Bill. Reckless cuts in Medicaid could force rural hospitals to close while others reduce services. Jesse will work to expand healthcare access and to the address the maternal care shortage crisis across the District.
The Second Congressional District is geographically and demographically diverse. Jesse Jackson Jr. would be committed to fighting for all residents from the South Side of Chicago and small towns like Tilton to rural and unincorporated areas. He would work hard every day to lead the fight for those who have been marginalized, forgotten and left behind in Washington's political chaos.
Join the effort to send Jesse Jackson Jr. back to Congress. A better future awaits.
